I’ve transitioned to a new WordPress.Org site in anticipation of getting away from Zenfolio later this year.  They have raised their prices again.  If you are interested in following my pictures please point your browser at http://norcrosspics.com/.

Thanks.

Big South Challenge

Two hot days of competitive lacrosse.  Temperatures in the mid-90’s with high humidity.  Throw in the Astroturf and you have for a hot time.  Our team got its first win of the summer going 1 – 3 – 1 in the tournament.  This is a new team playing LAX against long-term established programs.

We went to the festival today and had a great time.  It was hot.  High 80’s, low 90’s.  Typical Georgia weather for late spring, early Summer.  There was a lot to see.  My three favorites were the birds of prey, jousting and belly dancing.  I had the wrong lens for jousting.  The Birds of Prey were fun but my favorite, the Peregrine Falcon, was impossible to shoot.  What can I say, I liked the belly dancers.

We had our first summer lacrosse tournament this weekend playing five games in 90 degree plus heat.  Sunday threw in some extra humidity to maximize the experience.  You have to love the colors of the uniforms.   I thought our baby blues were wild when I saw them at home a couple of days prior.  Boy was I in for a surprise when I arrived at the tournament site.

Norcross Blue & White Game

The local high school had their annual spring football game last Friday.  The boys looked pretty good for only having practiced for two weeks; particularly the offense which is usually slower to develop than the defense.

They had a dog festival here in the Northeast Atlanta suburbs.  A lot of things going on but my favorite by far was the frisbee throwing.  I can’t even get my dog to sit!

Future Stars

Posted: April 30, 2011 in Lacrosse

I had a chance to go shoot some future football stars today.  Our local YMCA has a 7-10 flag football league.  Four teams, with no pressure, just a bunch of kids having a good time.  I don’t even know the score but everybody came out a winner.

We cooked outside for Easter today.  The birds are in all their glory here in Atlanta.  This was the only one brave enough to come within range.

I was shooting lacrosse tonight when I saw this young woman (she is one of the trainers actually).  The light was perfect and I couldn’t resist.

More baseball tonight with a Nikon 1.4 TC added to the Nikon 70 – 200 VR II 2.8 lens.  While I got inconsistent results on focusing, with the lens less forgiving with the TC on it, these two came out pretty good.
